Are you living with an autoimmune disease such as psoriasis, crohn’s and colitis, lupus, and rheumatoid arthritis? Are you constantly feeling “off” and wishing there might be some other support beyond what you’ve encountered during your diagnosis process?
As a naturopathic doctor, I can help. I spend 75 minutes at the initial consult to try to determine the CAUSE of an illness or illnesses.
When it comes to gut diseases, often, dietary changes such as the anti- inflammatory diet can help bring down inflammation. This inflammation is known to trigger autoimmune diseases. Sometimes food sensitivities can be the culprit. Sometimes dysbiosis (bad bacteria growth in the gut) is the trigger. Or stress can be an important factor as well.
After I’ve spent time getting to know a patient, I call on my years of expertise, having seen a range of cases, and consider what vitamins and medications that I can prescribe to help support the body and lower inflammation. I am trained aware of interactions that can occur between medications and vitamins/herbal supplements so I prescribe a carefully researched vitamins/herbal supplement plan for each patient.
For autoimmune disease, often low Vitamin D levels can contribute to inflammation in the body. Low-dose naltrexone (LDN) is a prescription-only complementary medicine used to treat many autoimmune diseases as well as inflammatory conditions and is one of my favorites choices to prescribe for a new patient. SPM fish oils is another great choice for bringing down inflammation in the body.
Do you have an autoimmune disease that’s keeping you from living your best life? Book an initial consultation to see how I can help make your days a little brighter.
